Yes that is correct, there is an official National Frog Leg Day and it is celebrated each year on the 29th of February. Frog legs have been around for a long time and it was said that the French first started the custom of eating frog legs way back when. But the way that history was written may not be so correct. There is evidence that was dug up and found in England showing frog bones. These frog bones apparently prove from the dating of the bones that the English were eating frog legs well before the French. Now that may not impress you as it may not most frog eating folks around the world, but we do know that eating frog legs are super yummy and enjoyed by a lot of folks in Europe, Asia and in the USA. You can celebrate frog legs any day of the year in any way that you would like to. But on the 29th of February each year just keep in mind that that date is officially set aside as National Frog Leg Day.

Where ever you are and where ever you live, just always remember in the back of your mind when national frog legs day is and that is on the 29th of February in the USA. We don't think that there are any big huge frog leg festivals or events on National Frog Leg Day 29 February but you can always make one. You can dedicate that day or the weekend closest to that date as National Frog leg Day and make your very own frog leg party. it can be BIG or it can be as small as just you frying up some super yummy frog legs. There is the Rayne Louisiana Frog Festival and there is also the Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival in FL but they do not fall on the National Frog Leg Day of 29 February.
